Writing some words on a piece of paper is one of the easiest things that anyone will ever do. However, arranging those words so that they are not only intelligible, but worth something to posterity is entirely different. You need to know how to write an essay and make it stand out because your instructor will read a bevy that don't because they're the usual fare. You can make yours special, and noticeable, by adding some memorable notes to the end of the essay. When you wonder, "I'm not sure how to write my essay," remember, a great conclusion is not written as a tag line to the rest; it is researched, well thought out and includes certain elements that will not only make your essay stand out, but will also show the teacher that you truly know how to write a superior conclusion.

Restate the Thesis

This is something that all writing instructors will tell you and it is imperative for concluding an essay writing assignment with a sense of completeness. The thesis is the central statement of your essay and the audience needs to be reminded of it, especially after reading a long paper, so they can see that you followed your original premise. Remember though, this should be a restatement. You should not copy the thesis that you wrote in the introduction. 

Short Summary

The conclusion should draw everything together. Therefore, it may be necessary to make some general statements that will remind people of the main points and some of the main arguments for those points. The thesis restatement is one sentence and this summary should only be two or three sentences itself. Since most essays will only include about three supporting paragraphs.
